The training of a horse is an experience that helps us understand how horses communicate and the power of our intention and emotional energy. The whole process that I teach is based on respect and trust, making sure one lesson is learnt, before going to the next one. In order to develop his cooperation in this task we must give him sufficient space and time to learn. The three principal aspects of a horse’s makeup are emotional, physical and mental. The speed of his training will be determined by the weakest of the three, and this aspect will be the one we must develop and take most care of. It is very important to clearly define each problem we want to solve. By defining it, we can split it into smaller parts and deal with each one step by step. This methodology is simple, the important thing is to be consistent in its application and bear in mind that horses are always learning, whether it be desirable behavior or not. The wonderful thing the horse offers us is the chance to make mistakes and start again, without judging our inexperience. My training sessions give the chance to share and understand this process. In a simple language, clear both to us and to our horse, we shall be able to enter our horse's mind and in so doing lead ourselves on an exciting journey of unlimited learning. The more I’ve worked with horses, the more I’ve learned how much we owe them, and I feel very grateful for being around them.
